Sprawling across four albums on this boxed set, programmer and annotator Lenny Kaye presents the big names and quite a few of the small but interesting ones: Fred Neil, Dave Van Ronk, Patrick Sky, Oscar Brand, and many more. This is an in-depth compilation, more than the casual listener may want, but it yields surprising pleasures.
