Album Hot Jazz: Le Hot Club de France, Vol. 1 by Django Reinhardt Review

Although it would have been preferable for GNP/Crescendo in their seven LPs of Django Reinhardt recordings to reissue his music in strict chronological order, each of these sets are well worth acquiring. Guitarist Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli are in superb form on the 14 selections that comprise this particular LP, performances taken from four different recording sessions. Such numbers as "Limehouse Blues", "I Found a New Baby", "It Don't Mean a Thing" and "Swing '39" are among the highlights of this consistently swinging set.
